A/C Low Pressure Cutout
Does annyone know if the A/C system has to be evacuated to replace the low pressure cutout switch that is mounted in the accumulator? The compressor works if I short out the switch leads and the system is not low on refrigerant. I assume the switch is bad. Thanks in advance.

I was able to replace mine without evacuating. It should just be on there handtight. I just unscrewed it. I'm guessing its a one way valve on it. It hissed just for a second when taking it off.

Re: A/C Low Pressure Cutout
It's a crapshoot. The low pressure switch mounting point normally has schrader valve in it. Removal of the switch can be done without evacuation. However, if it has been changed from OEM to an aftermarket, it may or may not have the schrader.
