Question

Ok, its a pretty stupid question, but i was wondering if anyone knew where the governor chip in a 1997 Sunfire GT was, and if i needed to have another chip to replace it. And if i do where can i get a chip to replace it?

thanks,

-Mattyb

Re: Question

As far as I know the speed limiter is in the computer.
You will have to get your computer tuned to do that.

Re: Question

it is in the programming for the PCM. The only way to eliminate it its to have your PCM re-flashed by an aftermarket performance company, if such a service even exists.

Re: Question

There is a place in Tilley Alberta called Westers Garage. He could do it for you.
