general info plz
Hi!
First Q.: Is a 80ies Classic Caprice Station FWD or RWD? Second Q.: What engines usually come with the 80ies Caprice(e.g. 86 Models)? HP and torque? Third: Q.: What typically weaknesses does this car have? Backround: a local dealer here in Germany offers a few Caprice Bodies, everything but engine and transmission. Because an old V8 would be suicide considering the gas prices here, I'm thinking about swapping in a modern Turbo Diesel. But therefore I need to know more basics about this car. Thanx a lot in advance. |

Re: general info plz
1 - RWD
2 - Could be anything from a 4.3L V6 to 5.7L V8. Most likely though a 160HP 5.0LV8., Some in the mid 80s could have even had a 5.7L diesel as well. 3 - finding parts now. These cars a tough. Turbo diesel swap sounds like a pretty cool idea. The size of the engine compartment should help quite a bit.
