Configuring Server 2003 for remote access
Hi guys,
Don't know if any of you have mucked around with Server 2003 before. I have our LAN server running Server 2003, with a 512/128 shared ADSL connection to the internet on our router. I want to set up the server so that workstations can login over the internet connection as another network node of the LAN. The workstations will primarily be XP Pro. Any tips, hints, suggestions?

Re: Configuring Server 2003 for remote access
Are you trying to log the workstations in over the LAN in the same physical vicinity or across the WAN as in from a different physical location entirely like another building or whatever?
First thing that comes to mind is Novell, but depends on the kind of network and applications you have in mind. Are you just trying to access the network for file sharing purposes or something else? If they're in the same location and you just want people to have to login to the network instead of auto connecting, just put a network password on their machines. I'm not sure about what options Server 2003 has - I haven't had a chance to install it and play around. Just offering some suggestions. Hope it helps a little.
