84' caprice roof upholstery

The upholstery roof in my car has begun to sag. I used to smoke alot and cant help but wonder if this had anything to do with it. Anyway is there anything I can do to fix this problem besides using thumb tacks every three inches to keep the roof upholstery from blocking my rearview mirror?

Re: 84' caprice roof upholstery

You can remove the headliner and recover it. www.eastwoodco.com sells a kit with the material and the adhesive needed for about $40US.

About 5 years ago I used staples to fasten the loose headliner fabric back onto whatever is above it. I just opened up a regular paper stapler, and punched away at the ceiling of the car. It has held up very well all these five years, even with windows open in summer. I never notice the staples since they are above eye level.
