Up Country Package Question

I just purchased a 96 sport and am curious as to the suspension setup. The ride height seems a bit higher than usual and thankfully the rear suspension is not sagged at all. The Jeep has a front and transfer case skid plate, but no fuel tank plate or tow hooks so it does not seem to have a full up country package. Could the HD springs and skid plates be ordered separately that year?

Re: Up Country Package Question

It could be aftermarket stuff as well. You can order all the HD stuff individually from Jeep and from 3rd parties, piece by piece. Note this would be stuff that looked stock as opposed to the stuff that has the rainbow colors so you know it's been modified. I have a catalog with these parts listed that I got a couple of days ago...

The rear end is an 8.25. I was underneath again yesterday and the springs both front and rear are factory, and the fronts look like are pretty new since they still have clean looking labels on them. It seems like factory upcountry minus: tow hooks and tank skid plate...Really odd set up, but at this point I guess it could have been spec'd with the components seperately at the dealer. Who knows...

I suppose so , but the molding under the front bumper does not have the cutouts for the tow hooks. Whatever, the damn thing drives nice and doesn't sag in the rear so I might as well drop it. Thanks for the insight though everyone

Re: Up Country Package Question

Go to your friendlyjeepdealer and as for a linesheet printout along with a recall record check. my local dealer printed out the linesheet for my grand cherokee for free. it ll tell you all the installed options it came with.
