Wet floor

I recently got a 1998 firebird (about 1 month) and just realized tonight that the passenger side floorboard is wet. I have those heavy duty mats that keep dirt and such off of the carpet; and when i lifted it off there was water under it and all over the floor. I washed the car monday; and it rained today. I felt all around the door to see if there was a wet spot but i didn't feel any. Any suggestions as to what could be wrong?

Uggg, heater core....mine went too...but I would think that if that was the case, you'd be smelling the coolant by now?

Re: Wet floor

That may explain the water I saw on the ground beneath my car also. I assume it only will do this when I run the A/C?

Well water is supposed to drip under the car when the A/C is on...as far as the heater core, mine was leaking w/ the car off. The heater core is the only thing thats really inside the car that has fluids running through it. And as far as smelling coolant, you should be smelling it, but who knows maybe its like 80% water b/c someone messed up or something.

Re: Wet floor

R u overheating?? If you are not it might be just a small leak, but enough to make your floor wet. Change it, its pretty easy and cheap.

Re: Wet floor

It doesn't appear to be coming from under the dash, so i think it was something in the car wash. My mom was telling me that a seatbelt was hanging out of her door in a car wash and it leaked in. I'll just check and see if it does this again next time i go through. And the car is not overheating and the liquid smells like water.

Re: Wet floor

next time it rains check to see if the puddle gest worse because if your car leaks then the puddle could have been a few days old
