new mg owner questions

I just bought my first mg, 1977mgb, I was told I need to by a seal for the top of the winshield, can anyone tell me what the proper name is for that part. I also need a gas pedal pad, but must be looking in the wrong places. thanks, and be patient, as I am learning as I go. stgard

Re: new mg owner questions

Hey stgard,

the name of the seal is the "top rail seal".

As I understand it, there is no gas pedal cover. But some people use the clutch pedal cover (same size, so I've been told) If anyone knows different, please let me know.

A good place for parts is www.victoriabritish.com ,there you can get a catalog to order almost every nut and bolt on you MGB or GT. The only thing that sucks about them is that they dont have an online catalog. Many people know of more places to get MG parts, but that is the place I'd start.

Have fun with your new MGB!!!

Another good source for parts is Moss Motors.

Yes, I would love to get the Supercharger kit from Moss. But It is very expensive. You should also look up a good shop manual. I would personally NOT recommend the Haynes manuals. I have just never liked them.
