94 Cutlass Supreme Convertible Top Help

The top won't go down far enough to be able to put the cover on, it stops about 2 inches from the little rubber stoppers. There doesn't seem to be anything blocking the folding of the top into the trunk. It looks like a fluid based system, could it just not have enough fluid left in it? It goes up and down just fine, just not the last few inches.

Is there a maintenance book that would have how to work on this top? The Haynes on Amazon specifically leaves the convertible out. I just bought this car a few months ago, has 40k miles on it, runs great besides needing a new alternator. This would really make it perfect.

Thanks

Question

Did you ever get a reply to this problem? I have the same issue with my top not fully closing.

No I haven't figured this one out. I'm still on the lookout for a manual for the top.
