Question electric turbos ????????

hey guys.... what do u think of the electric turbos..??????
I've heard that they dont really work, that is just a fan..... but also I've heard that if you dont wanna change many things in your car, this will be great, not a lot of power like a regular turbo but its good enough...
Do they work any good????????????????
any answer or comment would be greatly appreciated guys.... THANKS!

Re: electric turbos ????????

80% of people are dead set against the thought of them, 19% of people defend them.

I'm the 1% in the middle. I'd try an E-Ram if someone handed me one for FREE (with a mesh to prevent any broken pieces from getting into my engine) and said: "Here, try this and tell me if it works."

Supposedly the good ones help with HP at very low revs (when flooring it). But the good ones are pretty expensive.

If your model can accept a true turbo I'd save up for it instead. If you want to try Electric let us know how it works.

Just stay away from EBAY!!!!!!!!

Re: electric turbos ????????

also called a remote mount turbo. instead of the turbo being under the hood its in the back of the car by where you put the spare tire they only make about 4 psi of boost so it useless

Re: electric turbos ????????

Who know's... Maybe they do, maybe they don't.

I do say that those Spiralmaxs look silly as hell! I wouldn't think those would work. They look like those "Tornados". If they're electric with moving parts wouldn't the heat from exhaust ruin them pretty quickly.

Re: electric turbos ????????

Go to www.boosthead.com and read about Thomas Knight's ESC (electric supercharger) for around $2500 you can have 8PSI at idle and nearly double your HP with the push of a button. It runs off of two/four seperate fast recharge/lightweight batteries that run a 24-volt current to three custom-wound starter motors for a 15 second burst of SPEED. Similar to NOS in that it does not run all the time like conventional turbos/supers, plus it doesn't rob HP from your pulleys or create backpressure. recharges in 20 min. using a standard alternator or as fast as 20 seconds with a 200amp alternator. If I had $2500 there would already be one on my car!

Re: electric turbos ????????

oh... I forgot to mention the three starters run a roots-style blower. The best part is you don't have to build up the motor or buy manifolds or worry about the extra gas it's gonna use cause it doesn't run all the time...

Re: electric turbos ????????

People need to quit looking for short cuts. If you want to go fast, do it right. Otherwise don't do it at all. You'll look stupid.
