Bought New Chevy Help please Oil ?

I also just bought a new 2004 Z71 Silverado 4-door. and I was wondering is it safe to change the right off the bat to Mobile 1?

Mulaka, Wait for 5-8000 miles to let everything seet n the engine( rings ect.) Also no matter what the manual or dealer says, change the oil at 500 miles to get rid of machining and assembly residue left from the factory,then at regular intervals from there...JJ

There is also a strong argument to change all oils in the drive train early, but that is an expense many are reluctant to spend. I believe it will prolong life of vehicle , but if your not planning on keeping it till you or it dies then you might skip it.
