camaro and the vette

sup guys, i know dudes in their vettes think their the shit, but vettes that arent the z06's..think u guys in ur SS's could give them a run? i mean, if the z06 runs high 12's with 50 more hp than the normal vette, what would the normal vette run? cuz my friend said in his T/A he has intake and exhaust and he said he was with a vette.

Re: camaro and the vette

the base vettes really arent that cool. granted if i were offered one i would take it cause im a shallow shallow bastard. besides that, we got a lot of vettes in my town, but many of them are just the base models, not the z06s. they get spanked all the damn time. there are kids with hopped up eclipses and probes beating on these vettes. that is until one of the few z06s comes around and they all scatter. long post longer: i think that a stock ss might hang with the base vettes, you put some work into it and itll take that vette...

Re: camaro and the vette

01-02 ss's come with 325hp and the vette comes with 350, not much of a difference... i still think the ss looks better than the vette also... but the only thing is that its a little lighter so... i think that you might need an exhaust, cai, and a small mod like programmer and he will be able to take on the vette...

Re: camaro and the vette

i would perfer a ss rather than a base model vette for the price difference you could make your ss hang with the big dogs

Re: camaro and the vette

i'd take the vette.

1. i'm sure many of you have t/c and beleive it or not a lot of guys in vettes will not turn this off in a race, which will cause somone to run a 13.8 instead of a 13.1

2. another thing some vette owners don't know about is there competition mode, this is when you hold down your t/c button for 10 seconds while in park and you go from t/c to competition.

i blew away my dad in his c5 vette for almost a half a mile before he caught up to me. but that doesn't mean its not fast or a bad car(and i'm not saying any of you are saying that) in my eyes the base model vette is very nice. 13.1 in the 1320 is impressive to me.

and the Z06 runs a 12.4 not high 12's

Re: camaro and the vette

Maybe it's just NJ but I definately see a lot more camaros than vettes. Regardless, i'd rather have the SS, prolly mostly cuz im a cheap bastard.

Re: camaro and the vette

ya they look better, and also for the same price you can upgrade it to be better, only thing i like on the z06 though is the seats and rims, and thats about it, the engine is ok, but im not crazy at all over a z06, i am so obsessed with my 95' that id still rather have it over a z06 i dont know its just the looks like that arent made anymore, the engine sounds sooo much more badass than a z06, and they dont make any more camaros...
