4.3 motor problems
Ok heres my problem i hop you can help me- one day i was working on the body of my blazer then when i went to start it to leave it wouldnt start. i tested the fuel preasure and it only had 35 psi so i automatically assumed the fuel pump went out. Later i found out that my friend didnt unhook the battery when he was welding on it. I let the blazer sit for a day and it started kindof hesitantly but it started and i got it home. But now my abs light is on and so is the e-brake light im really thrown off on this hopefully one of you can help me.

Re: 4.3 motor problems
Don't you need to disconnect the battery when welding on a vechical so you do not short out the computer??

Re: 4.3 motor problems
Your abs light, and e-brake light might be on because of a shortage of brake fluid. If it's low look for a hole burnt in a brake hose, and also a quick brake check wouldn't hurt.

Re: 4.3 motor problems
A good rule of thumb is to disconnect the battery while welding,so is not welding within 12in. of the computer or laying your ground cable or feed cable(mig) over any of the wiring harness.Personally I welded on many cars and trucks and never had a problem yet without disconnecting the battery.

Re: 4.3 motor problems
technically you are supposed to disconnect any control unit that is near the welding, not just the battery. the welder is a battery, so disconnecting the battery wont do much.
