Explorer 98 power locks

Hello everyone. I have a serious problem with my Explorer. The power locks keep clicking like they are going haywire or something and when I am driving and I go over a bumb it either stops the clicking or starts it. I have a clicker to unlock and lock and sometimes when i go to lock it with the clicker it just starts to buzz and make a strange cccllllllick! cclllliiick! like a million times. It drives me and my husband crazy!

Could be a bad switch, or shorting out. Guess you could pull the fuse. Check all your switches. Good luck

Hi, had a very similar problem. The power locks on our 2000 explorer started going nuts one day. Every 15 seconds or so the car locks would unlock. No matter how you locked it. Not great for security. It ended up being a relay switch that had to be replaced. I seem to remember the hardware that had to be replaced being in the cargo area of the car behind one of the interior plastic panels.
