Take it to a mechanic and have it sniffed before you do anything else. An A/C system has alot of components that can go bad. We won't be able to help you until you identify the problem and narrow it down to a specific part. Usually a mechanic will do it for free. If you want some advice, take apart your glovebox so he can sniff your evaporator... usually the expansion valve goes bad. Make sure he sniffs this. Everything else will be in your engine compartment. Also, make sure he doesn't forget to sniff your drier.. (it under your coolant overflow). Come back and tell us what it is and we'll tell you how to fix it.

Re: 94 accord ex a/c problem.
One other thing. Take it to someone you trust. My story --- took my car to a place I had used before (but they tend to be a little expensive), They said the evaporator, compressor, condenser and something else needed replacing (pretty much the whole of the A/C system). Then to a place a friend recommended. New evaporator and one pipe (both Honda original parts). Price $900. Not cheap, but a lot less than $2500!! It's been working fine all through the summer. His opinion? The first shop were plaing it safe - making sure they caught the problem (without going to the trouble of diagnosing it properly).

Thanks, I guess I will take it to a couple of reputable shops and see what they say. I didn't plan on spending more than a few hundred dollars on this problem.

Re: 94 accord ex a/c problem.
ALmost all A/C problems end up being expensive. It's just that way.
