Unhappy electrical: turn signal problems

Hello MB Bros ans Sis's!

Ok! more with the electrical... new turn signal unit, rear harness and apparently - relatively new dash harness (still can clearly detect blue wrapping on 78 MGB. Other problem with signal unit - does not cancel on left turn but cancels on right turn! Tried replacing flasher - from Victoria Brit - sad to say a piece of trash... tried local source - really needed heavy duty according to electric mechanic... seemed to work... no signals again got that ticking sound when engaged left or right, but look at signal lights nothing happening front or back. Also, unit from VB purchased recently - car's been in shop more than on road since purchase in late November 03. So no real wear and tear... have had other related electrical problems including fuel gauge - 3rd attempt to find ohms and size; VB slightly overpriced; OReilly's can order - autometer brand (again) as well as Autozone; however, autometer gauge defective but have had it too long even though car has gone nowhere - and i really mean nowhere. Help wanted all ideas count...

Re: electrical: turn signal problems

mgbexperience.com has color wiring diagrams.
I recommend getting a Bentley manual and photo-copying the wiring diagrm. Then enlarge the copy. Some people have large copies laminated so they can use markers or grease pencils to help trace the circuits.

I'd check the voltage stabilizer, I'd also check the ground points near the the fuse block. Take a look at your hazzard switch as well. I remember having an issue with the turn signal, and then no hazzards or vice versa.
Good Luck
