"Underbody Shield Package"

Purchased an '04 TB w/o this option, and had the dealer install it after delivery. The plates seem to be plastic? Is this correct? I will say, after the installation it did seem to "tighten" up the ride, particularly the steering while going over bumps.

Re: "Underbody Shield Package"

I talked to Chevy. Even THEY can not tell me what the shields are made of. Maybe aluminum, maybe plastic. I have determined mine are plastic.

Question Skid Plates

Hello... On my '02 TB LTZ 4x4, the skid plate that protects the radiator and oil coolers is made of steel (or some metal) and the one under the front axle and oil pan, and the one under the fuel tank, are made of some composit material (like heavy plastic).

My questions to you, and anyone else reading this that has the full skid plate kit on their 4x4 Trailblazer:

How many seperate skid plates do you have?
Can you see the transmission pan by simply looking under the truck, or is the pan covered by a skid plate?

The reason that I am asking is that I recently took my '02 TB LTZ 4x4 to Chevy for service (transmission fluid change "power flush") and afterward, when I glanced under the truck (did not crawl under, just glanced) I could see the transmission pan and this made me think that maybe they did not re-install my skid plate. Now I am trying to remember how many plates came with the package and what all is protected by them...

I appreciate anyone's feedback, by comparing our skid plate packages, or as Chevy calls it, "Underbody Protection Package".

Thanks!

Re: "Underbody Shield Package"

They added three plates to my TB. All plastic. One between the front tires, one 1/2 way back on the driver side, and the third protects the gas tank.
