Where is the battery in 2000 and newer??

Like the title says... I don't see it anywhere as I casually look for it under the hood. Is it in the trunk? If so, where at?

Re: Where is the battery in 2000 and newer??

The battery is located under the rear bench seat along with the rear fuse block. There is an under hood fuse block on right side of engine compartment with a terminal for jump start.

Thanks Mark:

I wonder if it will last longer being out of the heat extremes of the hood?

I've read somewhere that GM designers placed the battery in that location to help equalize weight distribution on the unibody. That battery is also unique in the fact that it is ventilated to the exterior of the body via vent tubes.
