Transmission Question.......
Allright.... i just got another CRX Si and ive been having problems.Im just in any gear about 2000RPM or so and i press the gas lightly and it seems like it slips and it just jumps to 3000RPM in a matter of seconds(quicker than it's supposed to). The clutch in the car is brand new but the car has 207,000 miles on it. Is the tranny my problem? if so...what D series trannies would bolt right up since the CRX has a cable tranny?

If your tranny is slipping try holding the cheeks tighter and/or useing a little less lube.
The only part in your G/box than can slip is the clutch. If a gear is missing enough teeth to slip then the car would not even be moving. How sure are you the clutch was replaced? and who replaced it? Its possible it was incorectly adjusted. Theres an adjuster knob on the cable just above the clutch lever arm. (sticks out the frount of the gearbox) There should be a small amount of slack in the cable, and the lever should have a few frations of an inch of free play. If the cable is applying any pressure to the lever arm then its exactly the same as if you were riding the clutch. Turn the knob to lossen the cable a little. (dont pull it, trannys enjoy that)

Well i know it was replaced because he had paperwork and it was from Clutch Dr. As for adjusting it..i already tried that. if i turn it to the right it tightens it and the clutch feels tighter but when you drive it really slips. It you turn it to the left(loosen it) then the pedal has too much play in it. i really dont have a clue of what to do but i would like to get this fixed. All other replies would help alot. Thx.

There should be some play in the pedal. Thats the idea, other wise theres enough weight in the pedal to apply just enough pressure to the clutch fork to make the clutch slip.
The knob works on quite a course thread, so often only a 1/4 of a turn can mean the differnce between it being out of adjustment or just right. If you cant fugure it out then I suggest you take it back to your Clutch Dr, show them your reciept and make sure they fix it.
