Storage compartments on Avalanche

The salesman told me that the compartment on the side of the Avalanche could be used as a cooler. The manual just states these are for tools, storage, etc. Has anyone used them as a cooler?

Thanks, Karen

Re: Storage compartments on Avalanche

Actually, I've tossed drinks in there with a load of ice. It may not be insulated, but with a lot of ice, it kept the drinks cold all day. It's not a cooler, but it works.

As for the responses, yeah...they're pretty slow.
