6 Cylinder Misfire Code
I have a '98 sonata. The computer is giving codes that all cylinders are misfiring. I have replaced all the plugs, wires and coil pack. Still getting the code. The dealer looked at it and said that it may be the fuel system. That the injectors are clogged and need to be replaced. It's a lot of money and I don't think it will fix the problem. The car only runs rough every once in a while, otherwise runs great. Very intermitant. Still sounds like I missing something in the ignition system. Could it be the cam sensor, even though I haven't seen a code for that yet?. Thanks.

Re: 6 Cylinder Misfire Code
I have a 2000 sonata with a 2.5 V6 and had the same code. It was only intermitent also. I refused to replace wires or plugs because I could not see all 6 failing at once. I removed my fuel rails and took them to a shop and had the injectors cleaned. Problem has not come back since.( 5000 miles ago) The hyundai website recommends looking at the fuel system after wires and plugs and my mechanic said it is to rare to see the coil pack go. Good luck.

Re: Re: 6 Cylinder Misfire Code
Try buying some 88 cent fuel injection cleaner from Wal Mart. That stuff works like a dream.

Re: 6 Cylinder Misfire Code
The Chevron cleaner is the best in the market. I've used that on all my cars including the new sonata i just got.
If you have a costco membership they sell a 4 pack for around $9. I think its $4-$5 at pepboys |
