What's the point of the carbon fiber hood anyways?

IMO I don't even like the look of them, I'd rather keep my body stock looking.

I think they only look good on black cars lol. They save some serious weight though, but alot of people who get them do it just for looks and still have their spare tire on the car.

Either I am suffering from deja-vu, or this topic was on here two weeks ago. Anyway Carbon-Fiber by itself is a huge performance advantage in any shape. it is light, strong, moldable and easy to care for. Carbon-Fiber hoods elliminate weight, increase heat dessipation thereby lowering the opperating temperature of your engine and running it cooler increases performance, they are also much more ressistant to road debris and wont chip as easy, you dont have to worry about paint chips, dents, waxing, or having it rust if you dont touch up those nicks. they look awsome, they are expensive therefore adding a bling-bling effect. If they are vented then the performance gains are better and finally but most importantly they are a chick filter: a girl who knows her carbon fiber is a keeper!
