Re: oil with teflon?
no, it clogs oil filters and causes other problems. telfon must be bonded to metal surfaces by baking at extremely high temperatures. DuPont the inventor of Teflon tried to prevent the few oil companies from buying it and they advise against it's use. Notice how no major oil producers offer teflon "enhanced" oils. If there was benefit, they would be doing it as well.

Re: oil with teflon?
there are so many "peformance enhancers" out for cars promising less wear or MPG gains, things like the "tornado" an aluminum finned insert that is supposed to make air flow better. if it worked and you got thier promised 10% increase in fuel economy or whatever, don't you think major manufacturers would be using that technology from the factory? it would be quite a cheap improvement for fuel economy. if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Re: oil with teflon?
Please listen to msrjeep here and save your self money and future problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If I used every product that proported to increase fuel economy by "10%" my Jeep would be a money maker. The more I drive it the more I make - haha. Might even put the gas companies out of business. JD JD |

Re: oil with teflon?
oh yeah if you are looking for something to slightly reduce wear or increase oil change intervals, use a good quality synthetic motor oil. Mobil 1, Amsoil, Valvoline, and Castrol all make good full synthetics. Use a high quality oil filter such as Puralator, Mobil 1, or Amsoil filters. Then you can just change your oil filter and replace the oil you lose while changing that for a few intervals. If you change your standard "dino" oil every 4 months, it won't oxidize, separate, and "sludge" so your results will be similar. A quart of standard oil is $1-1.75. A quart of full synthetic is $4-6. Do the math and do whatever you feel is better!

Re: oil with teflon?
who likes greek?
