The Vapors - New Clear Days

What a great album. I fixed my friends record player, and by chance he had a copy of New Clear Days - so I tested it out with that.

It made me think that with as much good music was made during the first couple years of the eighties that it's a wonder anybody bothers writing anything new at all.

I'm sure everybody has heard Turning Japanese but my real favourite has to be Trains the lyrics are great, and the simple but effective use of the piano and background vocals completes the package.

Anybody else own or like this album?

I bought that album in...what was it, 1980??
I was about 14 or so, great album.
My whole class in school could belt out Turning Japanese ('I really think so")

That is when they weren't on a Mexican Radio

You are right about music...for about 10 years there from about '78 to 88, pop music was great. Then hip hop and grunge got going, all creativity was lost and things went straight to hell.
