serpentine belt

anybody had trouble with goodyear gatorback belts?? had two bad ones in a row. 97 s-10 blazer. with ac, auto. 82,000 miles noise from belt and or pully. replaced idler and tenioner. water pump was leaking replaced also altenator bearing had some play so i replaced it. i work part time at auto zone and pulled a new gatorback off the shelf, had same marking in the valleys as the ones i bought my guess is they had a bad run of belts. I put the old belt back on, gates. noise gone for 2000 miles. now noise starting again. next i will try e a kelly springfield belt. sorry about the other post i get carried away when i type fast. i hope this better

Re: serpentine belt

Can you break this down into section instead of one run on sentence.

Really hard to make out what you are saying.

Hey Bro, fast typing doesn't help if we can't make any sense out of what you're saying. Your thread sounds interesting as I have had a few bad belts myself. Try again and slow down.

Re: serpentine belt

I just bought a gator back, but have not yet installed it. It's one of those that's wrapped in the engine mount, so I only want to do this once!
Got it from Auto Zone, thinking it was a better belt than the original....now I'm not so sure.

Re: serpentine belt

I heard everyone is having problems with them.

Do Delco or go home I guess is the only way.

He made his point. I won't buy a Gator Back Belt (Someone should've yelled about the FRAM filters quite some time ago)

(Then again, I'm hard-of-hearing..., not to be confused with selective hearing that I selectively use on the family)

Have 1993 S-10 Blazer. Just changed the belt. Have had the vehicle for three years now. Belt that was on there was a Gator Back. So I put a Gator Back on. Is something maybe different with the engines that is causing these problems? (i.e. pulleys maybe). Has anyone had a problem with a Gator Back belt on a 94 or older?
