Re: Cowl hood and speed

harwood probably makes the best hoods IMHO. check out www.eharwood.com to see them. Jegs and Summit ususally carry a decent selection of Harwood hoods in stock. They may cost a little more than some of the bargin-based ones, but the fit/finish is worth it!

As to the "make your car faster" question, the obvious answer:
Spray it!

Re: Cowl hood and speed

a cowl induction hood is absolutely pointless on a fuel injected car. unless you have a tbi setup or something where the throttle body is on top of the engine like a carb, its not really gonna function as a cowl induction hood is supposed to.

Re: Cowl hood and speed

the air box ram-air set-up you are probably looking for is made by a company in Canada called Air Inlet Systems. Their website is www.ramairbox.com

Re: Cowl hood and speed

i dont recommend a 4in hood unless your racing, and have a carb. If you want style, 2in hood looks the best imo. Summit has alot of sales on cowl hoods, check with them for when they are.

There are alot of things to make your car faster. Ive never been a fan of putting on turbos, but if that floats your boat, hey go for it. If you know your way around the engine, let her breath. Put on dual exhast, with higher performace headers. Give her more gas, Edl. intake with a Edl. 4 barrel. Increase your compression, add higher compression heads, if your racing, use bee hive springs. The list goes on, and I havent really said anything that involves going INSIDE the engine.
