EVO vs. WRX/STI (Real Life Battle)

Dang been awhile since I last posted a thread here. Well we all know about internet smack talking, well it happends on every board, BS stories about beating this car and that car, most of it is absolute BS. WRX/STI owners love to talk smack about EVOs, and vice versa, all in fun. Finally an event was held this past Saturday, in which both WRX/STI and EVO owners had to back up their smack talk. It was a great turn out, over 150 different EVOs, WRXs, and STIs drag racing. The results- well it turned out to be very one sided, the EVOs handed the WRXs/STIs their ass. Hopefully this trend will continue, and many other events like this can be held, what two type of cars would you like to see go head to head. Personally I would love to see SRT-4 vs. Honda to see who really is the FWD King? Or how about Supra vs. LS1, maybe one day EVO vs. Supra? So many possibilities?

I figured the STi would lose this one. The Evo has always been the better sports car, and since the USDM STi has a whole new engine, the aftermarket potential for it is not as great. I think in a few years, though, the STi should be on par with the Evo over here.

I think LS1 vs. Supra would be extremely bad-ass.

cobra should desimate the supra rather easily... a mach one vs. supra would be good, the mach one would still win but it would be alot closer.

srt-4 versus honda??? which honda?

stock to stock, the srt-4 should beat all hondas cept an s2000 and nsx. may even beat an s2000 if the driver doesn't know how to drive it. but since you listed FWD only, i would say the srt-4 should have an advantage over any FWD honda. the new TL's are pretty quick though.

also, what year supras and cobras are we talkin about here? it'd be interesting to see a 04 cobra vs 95 or 96 supra tt, although i'd think the cobra should win pretty easily. until you start modding out the supra that is.

Didn't mention stock, cuz that is pretty obvious, I'm talking about brung what you got as long as it is street legal. So the point is, to see which FWD cars truly are the fastest ones in general, is it the Turbo B16 CRX or a Stage 2 SRT-4 (Just an example). Same goes for Supras, they have proven to be monsters modified.

An SRT-4 can beat an s2000 in a straight line. Its very hard to launch Hondas and be consistent...small engine Hondas...

S2000s run 5.4 0-60 mph when they are totally abused, feathering the clutch at 7000 rpms or so...on a normal launch 3,000-4000 range s2000s run 6.0 0-60mph...wheas SRTs can be launched basically from 2000 rpms or a little higher and pull consistently,...

well i've spoken to a few a guy who usually runs in import vs domestic battles at race way park. ( i live near that area ) and he drives a 11 second 69 camaro, he admits that the only fast imports there that ends up at the finals are supras. always every single year the supras are in the finals. and they usually run atleast 11's to 10's. and there are 9 second street supras with full interiors too in the states. so to say that a mach 1 would take down a supra is ludicris. and so is saying a cobra would take down a supra is also very ignorant. unless yoru talkin stock for stock. then a supra would lose to the cobra. but not to a mach1 since the supra does trap at 107mph stock.

also now lets talk about modding. a stock supra puts down 280-290whp on average. with bolt ons they can go as high as 450whp which is over 500 crank hp. now if you upgrade the turbo you can hit over 600whp easily. i work at speedworld and this summer i must've seen atleast 3 650+ whp supras at the shop i work at. those are easily 11 second cars. i know the cobra takes mods well too. however around 550whp is the limit for the modular v8 engine in stock trim. and the super charger maxes out at around that whp too. so your still goin to 100whp off from the average turbo upgraded supra. i would suggest you learn some stuff about your opponent before you mouth off.

edit: i chose LS1 vs supra by the way since the LS1 is just as quick if not faster then a cobra. also there tons of low 11 second LS1's then cobras. and plus fordjunkky pist me off so i would just choose the LS1 out of spite.

first off, i pissed you off, not pist you off... second off i thought this was stock... stock for stock the new cobra would desimate a stock supra... also i like camaros, corvettes and friebirds so that doesnt piss me off one bit...

also im not disputing that supras are awesome but its the same old story, you get what you pay for, back in 96 these things went from like 38,000 up into the 40's(almost 49,000)... thats more than the current cobra costs by about 5-15 grand (in 96 cobras started at like 26k so almost twice as much), so you get what you pay for. the question is "is it worth it"?

an engine able to hold over 900hp on stock internals, is worth it to me, a car that can go from 320hp to well over 400hp with $100 is worth it to me, also handles not too shabby either, and a long lasting vehicle named toyota with the performance of a c5 corvette. sounds worth it to me
