Question hot...

nice title...
anyway, i finally got tags and whatnot. so i been driving around a bit and whatnot.
well first off, i know i have an exhaust leak or two, because i still havnt fixed my 5 & 6 ports (doing it tonite when it cools down) and it smokes a bit when it gets to 6krpm. and i can see exhaust coming out the sides of the car. anyway, after driving maybe 10 min or so i came back home, and there is a ton of heat comming off the tranny, or the area at least. like the shifer and everything was quite hot, and it was pretty hot inside, even withe windows down and sunroof open. and its not especially hot out today or anything.
is this heat just caused by the exhaust leak? i mean it is a pretty bad one.
by the way its just the gray smoke which i believe is nothing too abnormal, except there is a lot at 6k+. like a ton. but this car has never been drivin hard or reved high, which would be the cause of the sticky ports.
really no smoke at all under 5krpm.
changed the oil. it had synthetic, i put in gtx 20-50.
well that was my day. basically just wanted to know if the exhaust leak would be causing the heat.
still need a new shift knob if anyone has one lying around...mine is really loose, its all jacked up. im so broke now.

Re: hot...

Sounds like your shifter boots are all gone. Pull up the shifter surround and look..
