Question Help please!

I bought an Eagle Talon DL 1993 couple of months ago, everything run fine in the car up to the day the car simply would not start, but you could hear the car trying to start and i tried starting it over and over, later the battery died. I bought a new battery and the car started right away, a mechanic told me it was the alternator so i changed it. The car drove for a day and a half and when stopped at a gas station it didn't want to start again.

Next, the mechanic said it could be the distributor, but i got a new distributor and it still didn't start right away...later, after the mechanics played with wires and stuff the car kinda started but was very low on power it's almost like the engine was dying. The mecanic said that it was on of the valves because there was no compression that's why there was no power.

Finally, I brought the car to my friend's garage, i did a complete tune up and kept the old distributor. Surprisingly, my friend got it started a couple of times no problem, when i went to pick it up though, i went for a test drive (it started just fine) but when i came back to the garage and shut it off it wouldn't start back again. So what can it be? should i try with a new distributor again? now the new mechanic says that his computer cannot connect to the car's computer so it could be burned. I heard computers are very expensive so i want to make sure that's the problem before going ahead with repairs. Can anyone help me?

Any help will be apreciated...

Re: Help please!

You can get a 1.8 ECU for less than 100 bucks on www.dsmtrader.com .

I'd worry about the bent valve, though.

Re: Help please!

1.8's are non interference engines so no bent valves unless you get something in the cylinder
