Rear differentials? Which one . . .
came on the 1997 3.2L V6 2wd automatic models?
Everywhere I've looked I'm getting contradicting information; one person tells me this and then another that. My understanding is that there were 2 different axles being used within that time frame - GM 10 bolt and a Dana 44? I have front Discs/rear drums, Rear abs if that helps. Thanks!

I don't know about your year, but on the 1995.5 there were Saginaw and Dana rear differentials installed.
Saginaw: Manufacturer's code stamped on passenger's side axle tube on the forward side. Dana: Manufacturer's code stamped on passenger's side axle tube on the rearward side. Tags bolted to the differential cover indicate axle ratio (driver's side tag) and limited slip application (passenger's side tag). Hope this helps, Dale |

Re: Rear differentials? Which one . . .
I'm pretty sure it is a Dana 44 on 2wd and 4wd 1997's.

Per your information given 95.5 Rodeo, I believe it is a Dana 44.
Thank you!
