Engine an Tranny mounts

Does anyone have info on locating and changing the engine and tranny mounts on a '97? Is it a job you can do yourself? Any info on cost and procedure will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: Engine an Tranny mounts

I think I got at least that much as a quote for doing mine. When I had my input speed sensor work done, all the shops noticed mine are cracked. They said you basically had to pull the tranny and support the engine, as the three mounts under there support both engine and transmission.

The Olds dealer in town quoted over $700 just for the parts, and couldn't get them for 2 weeks- so mine are still busted. I wanted to get them done while everything was already out.

Mine at least were clearly cracked, but holding things up just fine. They just told me try not to stomp on it from stoplights/signs. It supposedly just gives everything extra play, and can potentially bind things up a bit and cause a hard shift if I punch it.

Great Deal

I just had to replace all three of my mounts back in april and the dealer really did want $700.00 just for the mounts. So i got and the internet and luckly found this site http://www.worldparts.com/vandevereoldsmobile/. There price was only $400.00 with shipping and they get there parts from the dealer so they are brand new with a warranty. Save yourself 300 bucks
