ok....so for a while now my front left side has been making this high pitched sqeeling noise while i drive and stops when i brake. Do i just need to get off my lazy ass and clean the brakes?
ALSO Any good tips to get my gas mileage up?? i love my car but wtf....the gas milegae isnt so great.... ohhh...BTW...its a 02 malibu ls |

It sounds like you ar ein need of brake pads. There is a wear indicator on the pad that rubs against the rotor causing the squeak. As far as the mileae I have heard that either people with Malibus are getting great or crappy milage. The only thing I could reccomend would be keeping the car tuned up.. Wires, plugs, air filter, etc. Maybe try a different brand of gas. Around here, it seems when I use Texaco I get poor mileage and the car idles rough. If you decide to do a brake job, don't use the cheapest pads. Remember you get what you pay for.
