Deckplate mod
Not only on this forum have I heard about it, but apparently it's a extremely popular mod on Taco's and 4Runners. Seems pretty easy to do as well (I checked this out http://www.toyotaoffroad.net/jnburtman/deckplate.html ). So keeping with the stock intake system, a deckplate in conjunction with let's say an Amsoil or TRD air filter seems the way to go as opposed to getting some fancy smancy intake system.... would I be correct in this assumption?
And would anyone know a good online retailer to get a screw-out deckplate? |

Re: Deckplate mod
The deckplate mod works fine and may be better than most aftermarket intakes. I have one on my truck with a TRD filter.

Re: Deckplate mod
Just plug it for water problems like streams, puddles, etc. Your air filter will get wet under some circumstances.
(it's also a great excuse to buy a Dremmel tool )

So what does this do to your gas-mileage? Live in Cali where it costs an arm and a leg to fill up.
