90 taurus battery hot
i was trying to start my 1990 taurus today and i noticed that there was smoke coming off the negative battery cable. it was very hot when i touched it. is there some sort of short causing this?

You didn't say if it was smoking during the start mode but probably your battery post is not clean and/or making a good connection. Sometimes they look clean but need a brushing.
