New buyer
Hello, I have a cavalier and im going to sell it soon. I was looking at a civic to get because i love imports but I never had enough money to get one. I was just wondering what was the best type (DX, EX, LX) or what the best year is? My buddy told me that the 1996 - 1998 are the best looking ones. What is a good price to pay for them? Are they good cars? are the worth the money you pay for them? Are they fast? I dont know a lot about civics, I was more of an american car kinda guy but i have always loved imports. I was just wondering if this was a good car to get. Thanks for the information

Re: New buyer
I'd recommend checking out Edmunds.com to see hwat the different generations look like. 92-95 5th Gen, 96-98 6th Gen A, 99-00 6th Gen B. I believe the onlt differences between the 96-98 and 99-00 are the head lights, tail lights, front bumper, grill. EX will be the higher model for 2dr and 4dr, and fasters (127hp). For a hatchback the DX is the higher model with 106hp. So no they are not fast. But they are cheap and easy to make fast (with forced induction and/or motor swap). Yes it is definently a good car to get, very reliable, possibly the most reliable car out there. Price all depends on where you look for it, could be anywhere from $4000-8000; depending on year, condition, model, body type (hatch, 2dr, 4dr) and mileage. I'd say a good price would be around $5000-6500 for a good condition car.
