Question Big Water Problem

The other day my car got a water leak around the water pump. After finally finding out that the back half of the water pump is part of the timing chain cover (who designes this kind of junk?) I went and got a new water pump and put it on. But, there is still a leak and I can't see where it is coming from. I guess it could be the wonderfully made timing chain cover, which is $300 from the dealership. I can't seem to find one in the junk yard and I have no idea how to get the harmonic balancer off to even get to the cover. And all of this is "if" that is the problem. I am open to any help I can get. Thanks!

Re: Big Water Problem

You need a harmonic balancer puller. They are a pretty inexpensive and easy to use tool.

The gasket for the timing chain cover might be leaking, yet the cover is still good. Try disassembling and inspecting before condemning the entire cover.
