GMC Safari 4.3 v6 makes clanking sound soon after it starts.

Starter would not turn off after starting, but now soon after it starts, it makes a clanking noise, like a metal fan blade hitting something in the way (about 2 to 3 clanks a second).

Replaced the starter. The clanking noise stopped and the starter turns off once the enigne starts. Mission accomplished, Thank you for your support.
