It's "Galaxie"

Okay, someone had to state the obvious:

A 'galaxy' is an interstellar cluster of about 100 billion solar systems.

(oh, yes, it's also a Volkswagen/SEAT minivan in disguise as a Ford)

A 'Galaxie' is a real car.

Speaking of which, the new Taurus replacement, the Ford Five Hundred is named after a Galaxie option package. I say the new car should just have used the Galaxie name.

Opinions?

Re: It's "Galaxie"

I have a Galaxie and if they called the new Five Hundred a Galaxie I think it should be at least rear wheel drive or all wheel drive, insted of front wheel or all wheel plus it needs a V8 it(the five hundred)is a big car and is under powerd. Also the Taurus is not being replaced by it they will still make the Taurus for a while at least.

Re: It's "Galaxie"

The new Taurus will be a car called the Fusion. The Five Hundred is just a Volvo S80 in disguise.

I think they should have just re-designed the Crown Victoria instead, but whatever.

Re: It's "Galaxie"

Sorry, but there is vehicle intended to replace the Taurus.

The Fusion is similar to the Escape, and I think maybe you meant the Futura, which is larger and closer in size to the Taurus. While the Futura is similar in size and will compete with some of the Taurus' old competitors, it is a vastly different vehicle and will attract a different type of buyer than the Taurus. Most notably, the Futura will NOT be targeted for fleet sales.

Old school rocks. They Should have gave that bad ass car the name of the Galaxie. The name originated from Fords early days of circuit racing.

Real Galaxies don't need a prop rod to hold up the hood.

Real Galaxies' don't run hoods. Gets in the way of the 671 Blower!
