Re: Help with timing please

whats the car doing? is the check engine light on? does it start? i need more info besides you saying "i think its out of time"

if the car starts, try using a timing light to see how far timing is off, if its off at all. if its within 10 degrees BTDC (before top dead center) or ATDC (after top dead center) then somewhere the belt jumped a tooth, if timing is right on then you have yourself another problem to figure out... if its off then here is some steps to check:

go thru and align all the timing marks, on the cam gears, crankshaft and all that good shit... everything should line up just perfectly but the crankshaft should be rotated 1/2 a tooth BTDC.

Re: Help with timing please

well the car starts and runs but it doesnt seem to put out the power it should. the idle is rough and i understand that alot of that is from the cams but sometimes it dies and theres times it doesnt. its just doesnt make a whole lot of since to me. ive adjusted the idleing and its still does it. And also when i turn my a/c on 90% of the will die

Re: Help with timing please

Sounds more like an idle cntrol problem. ISC motor, etc.

Re: Help with timing please

Get a service manual for your car, it will outline ways to test that ISC. If you had a turbo car I could just tell you, but I'm not sure the chrysler motor uses the same ISC setup. If it tests bad, replace it. The reason I suspect the ISC is that its solely responsible for closed loop idle control (steady idle), and for bumping up air bypass when the AC is on to maintain idle. Its a good place to start. I'm sure the NT guys can give you other components to look into if the ISC tests good. Or the manual if it has a troublshooting section for idle control.
