help with turbo problem

hi guys, i need some help with my 93 turbo. I got a ct20b turbo to replaced my stock. and it was boosting to 11 lb ,then i replace my exhaust with tko system with a downpipe. and i boost to 15 lb i don't know why, but i was quick so i was glad. i drove it for a couple fo months, now its not boosting to 15 anymore only to 11. when it went to 11 it try to boost more but seems like its kinda bogging or jerking so it won't go. some please tell me what the problem is. could it be the stock boost control? or do i need to get it tune?

Re: help with turbo problem

If you open up your exhaust you are going to be able to make more boost - hence the 15 psi.

If you are bogging or jerking, I would first suggest getting new TOYOTA cap, rotor, wires and some NGK copper plugs. ... unless you recently have done these tune up parts.

Re: help with turbo problem

hey jeff, any hints on getting a plug out if it just won't come?

since it's been off the road for a month i've had penetrant sitting in there to try and soak in but even that hasn't helped.

Re: help with turbo problem

try warming up the engine (letting the head expand) and loosening it. make sure you install when the engine is cold though. and use anti-sieze for chrissakes!

Re: help with turbo problem

wasn't sure if warming it up would expand the hole or expand the plug... or mean the threads might strip... and yeah if i ever get the thing out i'll teflon coat the next one!
