Re: geez

just look at my car below... imagine the possibilites!.. Be unique and stick with the 4dr, not many modded 4 drs and thats my plan...the 2.2 will never be as fast as a 2.4 but they make turbo kits for them and with cam upgrades and run nitrous you can run 14's. in the 1/4 mile with all the safty specs in tune ofcourse..

Trade the Cavi in for a 2 dr. I bought a brand new 2 dr LS Sport that was completly loaded. I had a chance to buy a new Cobalt but I wasn't too impressed, I liked the Cavalier better. The cobalt had these white gauges that I thought were ugly.Plus I wanted to get a new Cavi before they discontinued them. It's your choice though, I personally think the 4 dr cavis are ugly and I would never ride a motorcycle.

Re: geez

keep it and get the bike too, just because she is a 4 door and a little slower does not mean you should just kick her to the curb. but everyone is right don't do anything stupid on your new bike!

Re: geez

mmmm.... drop in 3800 and turbo charge the bitch!.. You'll match the other cavys with that major upgrade and smoke any z24 with mods too. Just think... getting beat by a cavy sedan... Ha Ha.. those are my plans in a few years!

Re: geez

well the 4dr 2.2L is a pretty slow ass car, so dont expect anythinf fun out of it, yes you could turbo it, but you would then only be as fast as the 2.4's are stock. Theirs no way you could get into the 14's without spending more money than it would cost to get a new car. I say trade it in for an SRT4 or a cobalt SS.

hey,

i got a 95 2.4, z24, and i buying a turbo for it but i think if you are going to trade in the cav get a 2.4 a lot more horse and i was looking at dropping in a 350 and changing to rear wheel drive, but keep the car there are a lot of mods you can do to improve your car

This is true, but i'd think it would be funny as hell for a 4 door cavalier to out run z24s, or anything at that.

Re: geez

^^ a waste of money goal. . . yes it would be funny, but in order to make that car anywhere near fast you need to spend more money than what the car is worth. You could prolly run 5PSI on stock internals, that will put you around mid-low 16's. Then replace all the internals and turn up the boost to around 12 PSI, will get you low 15's, add a No2 kit and you will be in the 14's. Price for all this. . .lets see

Turbo Kit Stage II- 4,000 (you will need stage II for that much PSI)
N02 Kit- 500
Internals- 2,000
Tires&Rims-800 bucks (need better traction to put all that power to the ground)
Suspension- 500 bucks
Fuel Management system- 400
Exhaust- 500
Performance Clutch- 500

that right their is 9200 dollars. Yes you might be able to get away with a little less, but your gonna have tons of problems and the car will break down alot. All that for a 14 second car? with 9200 dollars you can pay for almost half the price of a new colbalt SS, SRT4, RSX, something with alot better appearance and respect. Sorry but trying to make a 4dr 2.2L cavalier fast is a waste of money and time.

Not to mention a Z24 with the GM supercharger that cost 2,000 bucks can put down a high 14 second time with no other mods. . .
