2004 limited features

I noticed as I was reading the manual that there are two features in the Durango Limited that are not activated and can only be activated by a certified Chrysler Technician.

They are:

1) Outside mirror Tilt. Mirrors point down to the curb when the vehicle is in reverse.

2) Driver seat moves back automitically when exiting the vehicle for ease of exit.

I don't understand why they would limit these features and make it so that they can only be activated by the dealer.

Has anyone had these features activated? Or does anyone have any input? I am taking my truck in for service and am wondering if I should have these features activated.

I understand why. It's so they can make more money off you. It's just like having your fries supersized at McDonald's.

I wouldn't activate any of that crap. I know where I'm going in reverse. You should always know where your corners are. There's no excuse for hitting a curb unless you're hammered. I probably exit a vehicle faster than a seat can move back anyways. Useless.

Don't waste your time. From other Dodge sites, it doesn't work right (the mirrors) and the seat will crush anybody in the back seat if they are not getting out!

Actually i took my 04 durango in to get these 2 features added a tech came out to drive through hooked up a computer did his magic all 30 seconds and said have a nice day

Both options are not worth the money at the dealer. In fact, I'd pay money to turn that stuff off. Those features are annoyances more than features, which is why Dodge designed them to be off unless the customer actually wants it. Let me know if you got these features or not.
