'94 grand am where is the thermostat

Where can I find the thermostat on a pontic grand am with a quad ohc engine, I followed the large hose from the radiator and took the bracket off where it meets the engine but there was no thermostat

I have the same car it's not fun. It is under the car where the exhaust pipe runs up to the motor. you have to take the exhaust off to get at it. It is on the back side of engine in the center. just left of the water pump. Good luck

yea if u pull the exhaust manifold it makes it alot easier

Did this one myself. The thermostat goes straight into the manifold from on top. You can see it, back side of the engine by the firewall. It has a lil wire running out from it. You might be able to get to it that way. Else you'll have to detatch the exhaust and pull the manifold off. It's a little tricky, but not too hard.
