Angry more problems

im beginning to think my car is cursed...
The other day i was driving home and my belt was squealing as usual.. but usually it quits after i change gears...it would not stop and finally the "S" belt broke and my battery light came on and the temperature gage went up all the way to hot.. it has happened before.. but i cant seem to figure out why it keeps doing it... my dad has replaced the belt again.. but what should i do to prevent it from happening again?.. the new belt isn't squealing now so maybe it won't happen again..

Re: more problems

i got that fixed, i ended up having to get a whole other alternator, it was pretty much eating the belts but now my belts are still squealing, i think the pulleys are messed up. the tension is how it should be too. very strange......

If your protege is a 1.5L, then it should only have one belt. I had a problem where my car would throw the belt every few months......Mazda Dealership said there was nothing wrong, but when i looked closely at everything, the air compressor pulley had a slight dent in it so the pulley would catch and throw the belt. Check all the pulleys.
