northstar support bar?

Hi, I am having a problem with my idler pulley so I need to take off the belt and then pull the pulley. There's no room to get my hand in this area without taking off the motor mount. I have one of the dealer manuals and it says that I need to get a support bar. It goes from the passenger side of the car to the drivers side on the front and back and then there's one bar that goes from the back to the front. They hook onto the engine in two spots to stop the engine from falling through the bottom of the car. Does anyone know where I can get one of these?

just tried it. They told me they don't loan out any specialty tools like that.

Re: Re: northstar support bar?

I replaced my idler pulley last year($25@NAPA)and did not need anything other than a carefully placed floor jack to support the passenger side of the engine. Take out all the torque plate bolts and depending on what angle is easiest for you, jack the engine up or down a couple inches to give you room to get a box end wrench onto the pulley bolt. It's very tight in there and hard to get the bolt(pulley shaft)out from the middle and clear but can be done. Took me 2 1/2 hours start to finish. Very frustrating job for something so simple.
