1995 GTP Stereo problems and replacing

The CD player in my 95 GTP doesn't work. It will play CDs ok sometimes...but it won't eject them. And when it does finally eject them the player still says there is a CD in it and then I get an E23 error code. And sometimes I put a CD in and it won't play and won't eject. Also a friend told me that I cannot put a different stereo in because I will lose my steering wheel controls and other features such as HUD and the Trip Computer that shows outside air temp, average MPG, average speed, ect.

get a cd cleaning kit, and it should fix your problem. IF that doesn't, then you'll need to take the radio in for repair.

hey, i had the same problems with my delco cd player, i beleive the e23 code has something to do with the actual spinnign of the cd, you can try the cd cleaner but it didnt work for me, and im pretty sure that e23 is not related to the lense, e20 is the code for lense problems, but i may be wrong! I wold just look up a delco unit repair place in the phone book, tahts what i did and its only gonna cost about 75 bucks to fix.

I had the same problem w/ my car. a cd cleaning kit isnt the trick, i learned that the best way to fix it was juss to buy a new cd player, you wont lose your heads up display unit or any thing like that the only problem is that your steering wheel controls wont work, but you can just get an adapter for 60$ and your probem is solved. worked for me - good luck
