Weird Scraping noise on new Accord
I just bought a new Accord V6. I recently noticed hearing like a metal scraping sound coming from the engine under the hood on my driver's side. This only happens when the car has been driven for a while and only 5-10 seconds after I start driving (I hear nothing when braking). I turned the car off and started it again to try to hear the sound but I guess because the car has been warmed up I don't hear the sound again. Other than that the car runs fine like it should when it's new.
Any suggestions what this could be? I plan on taking it in later to get checked. Thanks. |

Drive it through the front glass doors of your dealership! Then thell them you think it needs service.

Me too!
I am having this same problem I think. I have a 2002 Accord V6. The sound usually lasts longer when the car is not warmed up, but after it is warm it still happens but the noise only lasts for a sec or two. It happens when I am braking, accelerating, and turning left. It doesn't happen when I turn right for some reason. If it is happening while I am accelerating then it will stop when I brake. I don't understand what this is!!!!! It's so annoying. I am going to take it to the dealership this week but if you have found out what it is let me know. Thanks!

Figured it out
I found out that this horrible scrapping noise is the brakes. It's Honda's way of using a sensor to tell you that the brake pads are getting low and that you need to replace them. I replaced all of my brake pads and the noise is gone.
