Corsica alternator

I need to replace the alternator in a Corsica that belongs to a colleague at work. Unfortunatly I don't know the specs on the vehicle. She is going to pick up the alternator herself. I was just wondering if there were any quirks to replacing this or is this a fairly easy process.
Thanks for any info, Hebbs

Hey. Im changing the alternator on my gf's 92 as we speak. Im looking for some help on getting the bloody thing back in. Ive tried putting the belt on and then seating the alternator back in and there is too much tension to be the bolts in. Ive also seated the alternator and then tried prying the belt on. That didn't get too far. Ive been looking for some kind of relase that will give me some slack like most cars have. I can't seem to find one. Let me know if you find out.

Loop the belt over the alternator pulley first, then pull it up over the power steering pulley. It really helps to have a serpentine belt tool for a job like this. $15, and you will use it so often you'll be more than glad you bought it.

Re: Corsica alternator

You have to release the tensoner belt, better to have 2 people on this one, one to go under the car and release the tension and the other to simply slip the belt back over the alternator.
