Cherry Bombs, Ranger

which cherry bombs should I get for my 87 ranger 2.0L if I don't really care too much about performance and want that loud deep rumble for cheap...should I go with the muffler (scroll down in link) or the glasspack http://www.mchenrymuffler.com/cherrybomb.html ...remeber I don't want them to sound ricey just that loud deep rumble and performance really doesn't matter to me.

Re: Cherry Bombs, Ranger

you dont want it to sound "ricey"...but you dont care about performance...you have a 4cyl engine and your loking at putting a crappy chepo muffler that most kids with hondas that dontk now hot to tune imports put on their 4 cyl.... :22yikes:
the turbo muffler will give it a lil morenon 4cyl sound....or it will make it sound like a fart can...all dependso n where you put it in the exaust system and how many vaulves your engine has....the glass pack will more than likely give it a smooth one tone sound...but after a while you will get that straight pipe on a 4 cyl sound because the glass packing will begin to wear out...expecially if you get water in the exaust...

Re: Cherry Bombs, Ranger

if I had the money I would put in a flowmaster 40 series and revamp the whole exhaust system then change the intake and replace the hoeses since theyare in bad condition, but im not a tight budget, sorry for being so car illiterate

Re: Cherry Bombs, Ranger

I have a turbo muffler on my 2.0L 16v Saab, about 2/3 of the way through my system, and I replaced the cat. Now, before the cat was 86'd, it was dead quiet. After, it has a sound that I personally like. Not a fart can sound, and definately not stock.

Re: Cherry Bombs, Ranger

Nope. (That's sorta what I meant by fart can, because that's what the shitty ricers (around here) have on their cars)

This is a lost cause. Leave your truck as is. What you want to achieve is impossible with a 4 cyl engine.
Seriously, your best bet is to burn a CD with some Camaro noises and turn your stereo up loud.......
