do i need a new belt?

ok, so when i run the car, with a/c, it makes a little weird noise coiming from the belt area of the motor, and the when first started the rpms ar like 800, but wshen i turn off the a/c the rpms go up to 1000 and that noise goes away
anyone know?
would getting a new a/c belt fix this problem?
could the belt be too tight? to loose?

Re: do i need a new belt?

Thats normal man. Whenever you turn on the a/c the rpm goes lower. As for the noise...does it make that squeaky noise? If anything that could come from the alternator belt. Its like 10 bucks to replace it. Same goes with the a/c belt.
